REVIEW

The Baby Jogger City Select is the ideal stroller for a growing family. The best thing about this stroller is that it accommodates standard car seats, infant car seats, a bassinet in over 16 possible configurations. The City Select converts from a single stroller to a double stroller once your second child arrives, and you also get to use the seats in multiple positions. This stroller will actually accommodate three kids when used with a glider board for your oldest one. You just might find this stroller to be a great value purchase.

The stroller comes with several adjustable features such as the adjustable handlebar, canopy, and leg rests, and the second seat which clicks easily into place, making the City Select the ultimately customizable stroller. The air-filled tires are optimized for both smooth and slightly rough or gravelly terrain. The swivel lock front wheels make it a breeze to maneuver the stroller through busy streets. And when you are through with touring the city or running errands, the City Select folds up into a compact size, allowing you to store in your car’s trunk without any fuss.

Maneuverability

As mentioned earlier, the City Select is built on single stroller footprint, what this translates to is that it has a slimmer profile when compared to other tandem strollers. It fits through doorways and pretty easily even when used as a double stroller. Maneuvering through crowded areas is one of the many advantages of the City Select- you just basically glide through busy streets without the awkwardness of some bulky side-by-side strollers. The air-filled tires and swivel lock front wheels definitely make the stroller super easy to push. However, pushing the stroller on the grass with one hand can prove to be challenging, it was a similar experience on sandy terrains, but that is very common with strollers, especially ones that aren’t built for all terrains.

The brake is located on the handlebar, hence it is hand operated, but we found it a little bit stiff. But it does get the job done and far more convenient to use.

Folding and Storage

If there is a general disadvantage of strollers, it must be that they take up a lot of space. But the City Select has proven to be an exception because it folds up pretty nicely, not just when used as a single stroller but also as a double stroller. This is one feature that many moms are happy about, because it takes less space in the trunk of their cars, allowing them to manage the space properly. In order to conveniently fold the City Select, you need to remove the second seat, which might be the only inconvenience that you will have to deal with. The stroller collapses quite quickly, so you might want to be careful so your fingers don’t get caught.

Unlike the folding procedure, unfolding the City Select requires a little more effort- this has been a general complaint about the Baby Jogger City Select. Carrying the folded stroller is not very easy as it does not have a carry handle, plus you also have the carry the second seat if you are using it as a double stroller.

Car Seat

Of course the City Select is compatible with a variety of infant car seats, and as a matter of fact, the frame can accommodate two infant car seats.

This is particularly a great thing, especially if you are having twins.

The City Select is compatible with Select, Britax, Chicco, Maxi-Cosi, Cybex, Graco, Nuna and BOB infant car seats

Canopy

One feature that we really like is the City Select’s UV 50+ adjustable canopy, which is capable of snapping into two heights.

This further proves why it is a great stroller that really grows with your family.

The canopy has a window with a magnetic closure.

Another great thing that you will notice is that when extending or retracting the canopy, you aren’t going to get that annoying sound that could wake your little ones up.

The canopy does a fantastic job of protecting your kids from the elements.

Safety

Like most strollers on the market, the Baby Jogger City Select comes with a five-point harness which fits perfectly and is also easy to release with one hand.

The general consensus by parents who tested the stroller is that the harness is comfortable.

Conclusion

The Baby Jogger City Select offers a great level of flexibility that allows it to fit into your present situation, thanks to the multiple options and configurations designed to change as your kids grow.

This stroller scored high on every test that we put it through- from maneuverability and configurations to folding-, proving to be one of the best double strollers out there.

It is definitely a good stroller to consider when you are shopping for a double stroller.
